Ingredients
- 6 Bread pieces (either white or brown)
- 2 cup chopped Green Bell Pepper
- 1 chopped Onion (big)
- 2 chopped Tomatoes
- 3-4 Curry leaves
- 1 spoon black Mustard Seeds
- 1 cup Peas
- Salt as per taste
- 1 tsp Lemon Juice
- 1-2 Green Chillies (as per taste)
- 1 Spoon Refined Oil
- 1 tsp ginger-garlic paste
How to make Bread Poha
Cut the bread pieces in small squares. You would get around six squares from one bread piece. Keep them aside. You can take any of the breads, white or brown, as per your choice. Take kadhai and put it on flame.
Pour oil in kadhai. After one minute, add mustard seeds and curry leaves in the oil. Fry it for 30 seconds and add chopped onion in it. Once the onions turn translucent, add ginger-garlic paste. Saute it for 2 minutes and then add chopped tomatoes and green chilles.
Meanwhile, you can blanch the bell pepper and peas. You can add more veggies to the dish. Add the blanched vegetables, salt and lemon juice now. Saute it for 5 minutes. Now add the bread pieces in kadhai.
Remember, the stove should be on low flame when you put bread pieces in kadhai. Stir well. Sprinkle some water on the bread pieces and keep stirring. Let the vegetables mix with bread evenly. Cook for 5 more minutes. If you want, you can add coriander leaves. Bread poha is ready now. Serve hot with a glass of juice!
How to blanch: Soak the vegetables in hot water for 10 minutes. Now, wash them in cold water.
If you don’t want to blanch the vegetables, just cook them in kadhai itself after putting tomatoes in Kadhai. Blanching will save your time.
Add as many vegetables you want and have a colourful Bread Poha in breafast.
